Andrea Roberson – Restaurant

Andrea Roberson tries to visit a Spanish speaking country every chance she gets. On her most recent cruise vacation she went white water rafting in Costa Rica, four-wheeling through the jungles of Cancun, Mexico, shopping in Panama, and site seeing in Puerto Rico.

Andrea received a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language with a specialty in Spanish and a minor in Business Management from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. In 2003 she participated in a study abroad program at the Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. After graduation Andrea became a Spanish teacher. She taught Spanish for 5 years, in grade levels K, 1, 7, and 8. She also taught adult education Spanish classes for professionals who wanted to increase their business opportunities by learning Spanish.

In 2009 Andrea took a job with Santillana USA as an Assistant Editor. She was an editor and a writer for the Spanish as a World Language Middle School and High School textbook series. In January 2010 Andrea enrolled in culinary arts school to pursue her dream of becoming a pastry chef.

Ms. Roberson definitely misses teaching but the fact that she’s still able to communicate with teachers and stay connected to the classroom is a major plus in her life.
